Joint & Bursa Injections in Denver, CO

Same-day cortisone joint and bursa injections in Denver: knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, wrist, ankle and bursitis. From $325 with an ER physician at KaufCare.

KaufCare performs cortisone (steroid) joint and bursa injections the same day at 2515 Eliot St in Denver — no referral needed. The physician confirms whether the pain source is the joint, a bursa, a tendon or a muscle, using bedside musculoskeletal ultrasound when the diagnosis is uncertain, then injects corticosteroid with local anesthetic using anatomic landmarks or real-time ultrasound guidance. Walk-ins are welcome Monday–Friday, 9am–9pm. Evidence-based limits apply: no more than 3–4 cortisone injections per joint per year.

Joints and bursae we inject, and the conditions they treat

Joint injection versus bursa injection

A joint injection places corticosteroid inside the joint capsule to calm arthritis or joint inflammation. A bursa injection targets the fluid-filled cushion outside the joint — such as the trochanteric bursa at the outer hip or the subacromial bursa in the shoulder — which is often the true pain source even when patients assume it is the joint. Most patients feel relief within 3–7 days that lasts 6 weeks to 3 months. A hot, swollen joint with fever belongs in an emergency department: a possibly infected (septic) joint must never be injected with steroid.
